Boston and Concord
Age 0 to 19Before Miami, I lived in five homes: an apartment in Boston, then four in Concord. Concord is a small, quiet, historic town where everyone knows each other. Miami is Miami.
I build AI systems that give people back their time, and I love that nothing feels impossible anymore.
I work by the 10-80-10 rule: I set the direction, the AI does the bulk of the work, and I do the last 10 percent.
Hi, my name’s Jose, and I build AI systems that give people their time back.
I grew up in Concord, Massachusetts, a small town where a kid named Jose stood out. My dad, Roberto, was from Guatemala, so I’m first generation on his side. My mom, Amy, taught me everything I know, and I grew up on the Patriots and Celtics. My dad was an entrepreneur, and so was my grandpa.
Now I’m a junior at the University of Miami. I study entrepreneurship with a minor in business law.
Outside class, I build AI systems for a finance firm. The first one took over the weekly routine behind the firm’s podcast. Each week it found people who fit the guest profile and drafted invites. Every draft waited in my Gmail until I read it, because one careless email is a burnt bridge. Next came a reporting portal for the firm’s clients. I tested it on demo data, and a person checks every report, and I built a tool that made this website.
All of it runs on the 10-80-10 rule. I set the direction, the AI does the bulk of the work, and I do the final 10%.
If there’s work eating up your time, I’d love to hear about it.

I played competitively on club teams my whole life, through high school. Playing in England was my favorite. When I stopped, I kept the same structure, and I still work by it every day.
I’m working toward a BBA in entrepreneurship, with a minor in business law. I expect to graduate in May 2028. My classes, certificates and the rest of my record are on the Student page.
My mom is Amy, my brother is Gerald, and our dog is Paco, a six-year-old Cavapoo everyone still thinks is a puppy. Every summer we go to my grandparents’ cottage in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, which has been in our family for over 80 years. That’s when the whole family gets together and hangs out.
I’m first generation on my dad’s side. His name was Roberto, and he was from Guatemala. His side of the family still lives there, and I’ve visited a handful of times. When I’m there, I see family, eat well, and go to Antigua.

I love a spontaneous side quest. Sometimes that’s an event that night or a new restaurant I found on TikTok, and sometimes it’s a drive down to the Keys to spearfish with friends. When nothing’s planned, I’m usually at a friend’s pool. I’ve also picked up a little jiu-jitsu. I’ve lived in Miami since I was 19, but I still follow the Patriots and the Celtics, and out of all the movies I’ve seen, my two favorites are 300 and Good Will Hunting, the second partly because it’s set in Boston.
My vision: AI gives people back their time, so they spend it on the work only they can do.
What I’d add to a team: I’m the person people come to for help with AI.
Who this is for: business owners and teams buried in repeat work, and anyone hiring someone who builds with AI.
Where I want to work: AI and automation, focused on real estate.
Strength: I automate work most people still do by hand. Most students I know use AI to answer questions. I’ve used it to build seven working systems, each with a point where a person signs off.
Weakness: sales. I need to get better at it.
Opportunity: most small firms haven’t put AI to work yet.
Threat: as AI tools get easier, building with them stops standing out on its own, so what matters is knowing which work to hand off and checking what comes back.
Three words people use for me: motivated, trustworthy, loyal. Motivated, because I’ll do whatever it takes to get a strong result. Trustworthy, because nothing I build goes out without a person checking it. Loyal, because I do what’s best for the people I’m with.
What I love: building things that give people their time back, spearfishing in the Keys, Boston sports and finding new places to eat.
Where they meet: building with AI is what I love doing, what I do best, and what people come to me for.
What I value: honesty, hard work, family, growth, loyalty, trustworthiness, determination, accountability, respect and creativity.
Next year: start my own AI solutions and consulting company, focused on real estate, while I finish my degree. My family works in real estate in Guatemala.
In five years: business school in Boston, after I graduate in May 2028 and keep building with AI.
In ten years: building in commercial real estate, with AI running the repeat work.
